I recently used blackfriars Danish oil and they now use acetic acid as the drier. So the item was stinking of vinegar for ages afterwards. Not so good when it was stands for a wedding cake.

So be careful what you buy or your cabin will stink afterwards!

If the table is going to be used for food prep I would suggest a worktop oil for kitchen worktops. It is food safe and virtually odourless.

There is a 125mL tester pot, but that may be too small?

Having looked at the options, I am now confronted with MORE choices, where I was hoping for two: take it or leave it! This one?

I buy the 750ml ones and they last me ages.

If you can reliably use all of the tester it may well be enough. The 375 certainly will be plenty.

Extra choices have come in more recently. I don't know if they're better or just a case of getting more shelf space.

I always buy mine from eakers, which, despite being in the next village along, always seems the cheapest via ebay.

You won't get anywhere discounting it much - I suspect it's one of those ones that limits dealer discounting.

It will depend on how thirsty the wood is but a little oil goes a long way.

I like to apply it with a soft cloth. First coat will likely soak in. Leave it for 10 minutes then wipe off the excess with a soft cloth.
Leave it overnight and repeat.
Repeat until it no longer soaks in.

Make sure you wipe of any excess oil otherwise it will go sticky.
