let me guess... pulse autogenous in the first photo, and regular dabbing straight AC in the 2nd and 3rd photos?

First and second just pulsed 3rd autogenous I look at stuff on YouTube sometime and wonder how to he'll do they get it so neat, both do the same thing one looks better but takes a little longer 2 mm plate,

I would never have guessed TBH. It's easy for a good weldor to make dabbing look as neat as pulse, but the first pic the welds look slightly underfilled, if anything, which is why I thought it was autogenous.

Not that it matters in the slightest. Lovely work, better than I can do anyway!

Traps for pigeons I try something a little different whenever I get to do them, it's the only plate I get to weld no rod, just fused using the pulse, and then last picture pulse turned of

Ah , Id not got the scale at all , looks very heavy , , unless they are big pigeons .

Two things jump out at me, well 3. It's very neat. Didn't know you could have pulse dc? And isn't autogeneous with ali risky for cracking - dependant on the material spec I guess?

Ali cracks sometimes for all sorts of reasons, these are only for pigeons I've been dabbling them in the past only for them to be ground flush,

You can have pulse on AC or DC, if the machine supports it
1xxx (pure) and a lot of Si alloy sheet isn't too sensitive to cracking, if its not a critical joint you can usually get away with autogenous.
It's very easy with AC pulse at say 2hz and the right settings to make a lovely looking job of outside corners, even if it's not too strong.

Nice. I sometimes use pulse without any filler. Only when the joint is a closed outside corner though.

whack the pedal down and throw the filler in the joint always works better for me.

If you have say 1.5Hz pulse, do you time your movement to the pulse? Ie 2 pulses? Can you see the pulses through the glass? I guess you can?

You’d have to move on every pulse to get even ripples

Timed the pulse settings to 1-1.2 pulses per sec move on the freeze/cold end of the pulse if that's what you call it, try and move around 3 mm at a time, not sure of the technical wording to best describe it any faster needs more concentration
