Hi all,
Following on from the unearthings of my ‘High End MMA unit’ thread I discovered PULSE MMA welding exists.
The more I’ve looked into this, the more attractive it looks to me.
I have a project I want to embark on welding some thinner sections of bright steel rod and flat bar.
We are talking predominantly
~ 15mm x 3 mm bright annealed steel flat bar
~ 12mm x 2mm bright annealed steel flat bar
~ 3mm.bright annealed steel round bar
As you can tell, it’s not weight bearing or structural, just some ornate stuff I want to assemble.
I have a Jasic Pro 200P Pulse TIG / MMA (doesn’t pulse on MMA setting) which I may sell as I want to run it on a king extension which it doesn’t like (blow fuses).
I’m warming to the idea of pulse MMA to allow me to weld the thin stuff without burning through. Since the welds won’t be very long in most instances (maybe a few cm average) am I overthinking this?
Is there a process more suitable? (I’m lead to believe TIG is more for Stainless / aluminium)
Want to avoid MIG because of the hassle of bottles etc outside.
As far as I’m aware the only pulse MMA machines I can find are from EWM (Pico 160), GYS GYSPro 183CEL, Fronius Transpocket 150/160 and that’s about it.
Does anyone:
A) Know any other machines offering this feature?
B) Have any experience of trying it?
C) Have any recommendations?
Thanks.
