Pug 206 ABS help Pls.

How do all, i have come to a dead end with no help from a pug forum or anyone else, and i dont know why i didnt ask on here first as you guys n gals know all about everything.

So the darn problem, we have just got a new car and i need to sort the ABS out as the light is on now all the time before i sell it.
I replaced the rear axle onthe 206 1.6 HDi not long ago, before i did this the ABS light came on now and then, but since the new axle it is on all the time, no wi did damage this part but it is a rubber type ring not steel as i would of thought it to be.

If this is part of the ABS and causing the problem how do i replace it as i have had a look and it is not budging.

ABS rings have loads of teeth,prob around 50 odd,those hubs havnt got the ring so are non abs hubs.

I have been told these are magnetic ones.

Just found out i need to replace the complate hub, no big deal. I actually got a reply from the forum i asked on a week ago lol.

these are the type i know,never did much on pugs ,even quite new cars have the extrrnal reluctor ring so who knows ?.

Yes thats what i thought so i was lost as to what was wrong as the toothed ring couldnt of fell off lol.

Not all have teeth the reluctor ring on the ford focus looks like a dust cover and simply taps off

If it's an abs car you are missing the tone ring. Also the car is French. There is your main problem

They are the ABS reluctors. In the last picture you can see the lines running around the outside edge of the ring, its actually ferrous dust stuck on the surface of the ring.
They are available on eBay, also your wheel bearings aren't supposed to separate as they have done, the inner raceway should stay in the assembly.

Yes.. i believe they are the magnetic type. If you touch it with a screw driver you should feel it stick to it !
They are normally replaceable on most cars ?

I have been looking for a abs ring for it but no luck on these from the UK, but plenty of complete hubs. Around £25-£30 still isnt bad, better than pluging it in to a diagnostic to find out what i thought though.

Yes the bearings i thought, ****e, they have only been on a few months since i replaced the axle aswell.

Hi Andy, yes but not sure if that one is for drum or disc, and the price is a lot with delivery, also a new complete hub is £27 delivered.

Disc I think, from what I recall the drum one is smaller but I haven't done one in a while so don't quote me.
The hub with bearing for £27 is going to be rock bottom quality. You can't even get a quality bearing kit for that money.

As with the Berlingo the hubs come with the bearing fitted and are not supposed to be rep!aced. The whole hub is a service item which is why they are cheaper.

NO matter really anway as its for sale this week, well when i MOT it, got 3 months left but cant sell it like that, ir been good little car.
