I do like a nice pint in the pub but cant justify the price, I don't really like a lot of the ale around these parts either so pot luck if they have any decent guest ales on

A plastering question. There is nothing supporting the edge of the flat board. I'm just going to pin a 1/2" quadrant beading along there and paint black to match the beams.

The gap circled though, how to fill? Some sort of plaster, bonding, browning? Intent is to just blend / feather it in.

Straight edges aren't critical up here by any means. If it looks "organic" it's no big deal.

The bottom of "the straight edge to fix to" is nearly an inch higher than the bottom of the truss I have fixed to.

It is what it is. How to fill is the question.

Mate of mine has a a saying. If you make a fu@k up, make a feature of it. In this instance, I'm not sure what the 'feature' would be. But I'm sure the Hive mind on here can come up with something

How would the problem have been sorted by a traditional plasterer ?

I suspect bung something in the gap (newspaper?) and plaster over it.

Quick squirt of expanding foam, and just feather it in when you skim it!

Years ago, before the resurgence of decent Cornish Pasties, we bought some & went to eat them on the cliffs at Lands End. They were so inedible, even the seagulls wouldn’t eat them, chucked the pastry up & the gulls looked & left it. Thankfully a decent pasty is a joy to eat though.
