pub gas converter

anyone know where i can get a converter to make a pub gas bottle fit my regulator.

Not sure exactly what type of bottle my reg fits as it came with a s/h welder, but both the pub gas bottle and the regulator appear to have the same size male thread, so i just need a gender changer for the regulator.

Does Weldequip sell these? He seems to be the man about here to get stuff from.

I've got adaptors to go the other way, ie.from a CO2 regulator to an Argon cylinder, but not the other way I'm afraid.
What's the make of your regulator?

Just out of interest, how much would you sell a CO2 reg for. I don't need anything fancy.

£29.50 for an industrial 2 gauge (British made of course!)
Reason I ask the make of your existing one is that I stock replacement Inlet Stems so you could convert it. There are different threads where it screws into the base of the regulator though, so I need to know the brand.

Just been and had a look, its an italian made regulator by 'oxyturbo'. That mean anything to you?

They are a bit odd-ball I'm afraid, all the threads are different to the standard stuff.
The adaptor above will do you... bit pricey though, you can have a full new regulator for not much more.

yeah, just looked at that, and thought the same thing. If i take the inlet stem off and measure the thread, do you think you'd be able to supply one from that?

Isn't that a safety issue?

CO2 is normally 900PSI, Argon 3300.

I assume you only sell them if you know the regulator with the CO2 fitting is good for higher pressures.

I picked up an adapter to use a CO2 tank with my argon reg. Could have picked up a used reg for what I paid for it though.

Can be Shenion yes. The CO2 regulators I stock are rated up to 300bar, same as the Argon ones, so I stock them for use with those.
