pub gas c02

got gifted a three quarter full pub gas bottle,it has nitrogen n2 and carbon dioxide written on the label, brew gas is the name.
Up untill now I have only used argoshield light,and intend to carry on with that, but if this can be used it would be usefull as being a baby bottle easier to load for the occasional jobs away from shop.
would I need a differant regulator? I realise from other posts its slightly more penatrating and not as good a finish ,other than that any specific setting changes involved?

yes gordon is spot on, cant be used for welding it has to be pure Co2

Thanks, thats why I thought I was safer double checking! reading other posts just found one stating c02 ones have male threads, this has female , so its a non runner, appreciate the advice , will no doubt find some one who can actually use it for its intended use . Cheers(pub bottle) Arther

its probably used on live beers, lagers use pure Co2 as do the fizzy drinks machines and probably ciders

those newer pumps with the head button oh i need a head button use that mix i do believe just for a lovely creamy head the nitrogen is less soluble and makes more smaller bubbles or something like that

the head button just lets the beer through a finer jet type thing that froths it up, the fosters taps have them and still run on pure Co2, nitrogen is not absorbed into the beer

i had a free supply until june last year when my mate left the club as its going to be demolished and a shop built, the property companies are selling them off as they know that pubs and clubs are a dying thing.
ive gone over to Co2 argon mix, i paid £60 deposit and £24 per refil, a 10 litre cylinder, same size as pub Co2

no its not bad at all there is no rental just the £60 deposit for the cylinder, the odd time i bought a cylinder of Co2 early 90s it was 13 quid

dont know if you get the full 60 back, i think they take a percentage off for time passed but they did say the cylinder had a value if i wanted rid at any point but never asked, its with a company called broadman gas which is where all my free Co2 came from aswell
