Pub Co2

Hello everyone,
Just purchased a pub Co2 and want to connect it to my 4mm push fit mig.

All the adapters on flea bay have the wrong thread. Mine has a nipple for I think 6mm hose. If I un screw this im left with a 8-9mm female thread.

Can I jubilee on to the nipple?

Thanks so much for your help. However thats the only type I can find.
If I un screw the nipple I'm left with a female thread and these adapters come with a female nut so it won't fit

Do I have to buy anyway then cut off the nut and Jubilee it on(will that take the pressure?)

Maybe I should point out that i'm using straight Co2 with a Co2 ONLY regulater(Pub type)

The connector outlet on the reg is probably 3/8" BSP.

put a picture up and we can see what you mean.

pub bottle. --- same thread as a Co2 fire extinguisher. I thought Weldquip did a conversion.see your local fire ext people for a spare nozzle. then make a converter.

hi currymunster, sorry i got your name wrong before. pictures speak a thousand words as they say, you can use the same pipe as in the link i pointed you to, just cut off the large nut that connects to your reg, then put a jubilee clip on your new pipe tighten up and away you go.
What welder have you got by the way, just out of intrest.

not a problem james, as your only setting your flow to 10lpm pressure is'nt a problem, you could blow harder than that, just make sure its tight, so you get no leaks.

Sorry I forgot to answer your question. I have a Clarke pro90 at mo.
Used to have a SIP migmate 105 a long time ago.
Prefer the clarke just starting to need a bit more power though as I now own a Defender with 2mm chassis - Clarke 90 on top whack for that.

Maybe a 151en?

That Regulator is for a pub I think, hence why the output is graduated in bar and you do not need it anywhere near what that goes up to.

i thought id ask this in here

couple of things thoe

im aware of a closed down pub which has pub gas bottles and the beer barrels both companys have been informed for removal of them

so far they have point blank refused to do so
the brewery says scrap the barrels the gas bottle place has had enough time for there removal of them but hasnt done so

im hoping in one way i could be lucky and find a few full ones for mig usage well if its free who can blame me

ive read up on stuff think ive got an idea thoe on what to look for could some please care to advise just incase as it would be appreciated

but i would like a contact number so the bottles could be removed safely as well instead of just being thrown in a skip which personally i think is damn right dangerous and only passes it over to someone else

frankly im suprised the brewery even suggested scrapping the barrels, no scrapyard would even take them as there are a very great possibility of being prosecuted for trying to do so.

Gaz1 just be aware if you want to use one (or two...) of the CO2 bottles that some have CO2 and Nitrogen? I think it is and some are streight CO2. Not sure how you tell which is which. You might find there is a lable round the collar at top of bottle saying "contains CO2 and NO2 (I think thats the chemical symble, long time since I done chemistry : )). I use the pub type CO2 cylinder and CO2. Works for me and thats on car bodywork.
ps If you get the address of the bottle company and at some point go to them and get a bottle+gas (should be about £40 - 45) then give it a week or to and take in one of your (there bottle) empties and wave the recipt about and ask for a refill (£15 - 20) and keep cycling the bottles.

Some info here which might help in identifying pub bottles. You need straight CO2, as already said:

CO2 should have a grey collar or grey paint at the top of the cylinder.
Mixed should have a green collar or green paint at the top of the cylinder.

Provided they have put the right gas into the right bottles, of course...
