Pub bottles

Ive since started to do a bit more welding these days and the disposables are just too expensive to keep using them.
My mate owns a pub and reckon he'd be happy enough to sort me with a oub bottle.
But what exactly do i need?
Just ask him for a c02 bottle and buy the c02 regulator from weldequip and it should just screw onto the pub bottle?
For refills do i just take it to my mate and he gets it refilled for me?

Hi Anton ,most pubs stock 2 types of bottle,you need 100% co2.....the other mix has nitrogen in it as well ,landlord should be able to get replacements as you need them i pay £15.......weldquip can supply co2 regs depending on your welder depend if you need a hose with a push fitting ,if you are currently using disposables you will have a 4mm plastic pipe feeding the welder and will need the hose adaptor from Steve also........reg here

Hi Anton , if you cant get your hands on a 100% co2 pub bottle, you could always go to fire extinguishers , just need an adaptor for the reg to the extinguisher ( get them in BOC and very cheap) what part of the country are you from know someone who would supply refill and get you a reg and adaptor if you need one.

Cheers rob, im in Portstewart Co Derry right on the north coast.
I spotted that reg from weldequip and provided i can get the pub bottle i will be buying it.

So an old C02 fire extinguisher would do the same job? No legal problems with C02 extinguishers?

same job and can get them big or a handy size , once i get the power sorted in the 'shop and i buy a mig that what ill be running it on for a bit till i get a good price on argosield ( some firebridgade stations will fill co2 up free)

get down to you local pub and ask the landlord to sell or order you one around £13 keep him sweet with the offer of affordable welding should he need any
