PTO shaft lemon type, part needed, help needed to know what

Sure the smaller spline is 1"?
If its 1 1/8" you can get an adapter sleeve up to the (more standard) 1 3/8" spline.

Yes, thats what I had hoped for while I was away from it, stuck the vernier on it and its 1", its an under slung mower converted to 3 point linkage so can only guess thats was the sizes for it.

Got something here that should do the job,its on different shafts but has the right ends. Will take some snaps tomorrow.

540 spline standard size, 1 3/8" , got me on the last question, 2' would be long enough I would say any extra would be a bonus just incase.

Ok, got the mishmash of bits to do this, on a different tube design but I have the correct ends.

The inch six spline looks new.

When you replied I knew that 1" was different, I went over and whipped off the half shaft I have, it has 10 splines,

would your shaft work if I was to put my 10 spline end on it, thats if it will fit or even possible.

On the plus after an internet search there seems to be adaptors available, getting one in the UK could be an issue though.

That would explain why that PTO shaft has been welded together.

I'd clean up a couple opposing cross cups, find a couple nuts that'll fit flat on to the cups (you might need to remove the circlips to get a big enough area), zero your verniers on the nuts, then measure across the cross with the nuts so you get the width of the cross.
Also measure the cup bores, then check those catalogues I linked to earlier to see if it's using a common PTO size.

There is a bit of slack in the side nearest the mower (see pics) and that size is 59mm, see how only one circlip is only it its groove, the welded side is 57mm and both circlips are in their grooves, 20mm diameter cups,

I'll have a look later and see if I find something the same, why would the cross measure different?
