PT-31 Torch Upgrade

My Lidl/Parkside plasma came with a short (2.5m) lead. I want to get a longer 5 or 7m lead but stick with the PT31 torch & once I've used up all my consumables I'll upgrade the torch to something better, maybe a SG55.

What I want to know can you easily fit a different torch on a lead meant for a PT31?

How about making up an extension cable for the machine end?
Then you don't get stuck with the long torch and you can use it with the replacement torch as well when you get it

I have a dead Draper "expert"plasma that has a longer lead.
You can have it for the postage if the torch could be made to fit your machine. Might even have some spare consumables.

There are a couple of reasons for needing a longer lead - firstly you need to have the unit too close to what you're cutting for comfort, for large sheets that usually entails balancing it on to of the sheet!
Secondly, I'm finally getting around to making a welding trolley to house the mig, tig & plasma & a longer lead will mean I can do my cutting without having to move the trolley outside!
