I have quite a few pry bars, they’re extremely useful! Ideally you want a few different shapes and sizes for automotive work. I have a set of Matador strike-through handled ones for general use, a nice Gedore one (Amazon bargain), and a Facom one with a curled end. I have some others but they’re the ones I use regularly. Don’t forget heel bars, you need a few of those too!
I started out with a Sealey or Clarke set I probably bought in Machine Mart and they worked fine. Many years ago I bought a set of 4 Snap On strike through pry bars, at the time on special they came with an extra 36" bar and dead blow ball pein. The Snap On ones are really nice but I bet they cost more than double what I paid now and you would get the free 36" bar and hammer. I'm not a Snap On tart but the pry bars are excellent, just picking one up you know it's different. I still have my old ones but the only time I use them is if I need two bars of similar length for a job. My Snap On are the older style handles, not the new style.
I also have a couple of the Gearwrench type with the indexible heads, one has an extending handle too, again a great tool
I use MAC tools bars, mainly as we didn't have a snappy guy at the time but now we do, iv managed to break the tip off of the strike through but its warrantied, not managed to bend one yet and they have had some grief,
