proper name for serrated nails ?

doing some manual nailing on cladding...as it bounces around the others are coming out a tad , im gussing i want some with a serrated finish ?

what am i looking for ? what are they called , its manual nailing no air gun

not drunk , just wrong nails /fixings for the job by the looks of it

I always use these, the bigger ones are sometimes difficult to hammer in but seem to work well???

Last time I fitted cladding I deliberately used overlapping feathered edge so I could fit screws and hide the heads. Only issue is they are more likely to split the cladding, where as a blunt nail normally won’t. Obviously there are plenty of ways to counter that.

In the olden days serrated ring nails were mostly available in Silicon bronze for boatbuilding & were known as Gripfast nails. Horribly expensive.

There was a company a few years ago advertising (cannot find it now)
screws collated into strips to fit in a normal pneumatic nail gun.
They touted the fact that it met Dade County code for screwed down roof sheeting,
and was much faster.

Screws punched/hammered in do not hold the same as screws screwed in.

It is a technique I've seen used. Once test tried it, out of curiosity. Wasn't impressed with the results. The screws will hold generally, but there's not the same amount of grip.
