Got one of those propane torches from Lidl, why doesnt it need a flashback arrestor? Or does it? Same for gas cooking stoves, why no FBA's on them?

Maybe because your not mixing oxygen in with the gas?

flashbacks generaly only ocur when gas fuel is mixed with air or oxygen
caused by backfeed of one gas to another so one gas no flashback arestors

How about those mini gas/oxy kits like they sell in Halfords for example; could they suffer a flashback?

Could you explain or post a link/picture of the propane burner as i have been looking into burners to preheat the metal before welding and was looking at alternatives to the canister (plumbers) type. I have looked at the Lidl web site and cant find it on there

did you buy this recently please?

I've done a search and the only thing I can find for Lidl and gas torches was that they were offered for sale in Ireland in June or July.

Hi Peter, Mark. Bought it last week in Lidls, Bridgend. 15 quid. There was quite a few there.
