Propane bottle extension

Does anybody know where I can find an extension for a propane tank outlet?

My regulator doesn’t fit in due to the dials catching on the carry handle.

I thought they were all standardised as 5/8 BSP Left Hand Thread, same as the extension?

I thought they were smaller, the std bottle fitting is known as POL, I can get a POL to 1/4 bsp for £5, then a brass socket is pennies so a cheaper option if they are 1/4bsp

I assumed as the OP mentioned gauges that he was using standard propane burning equipment which happens to be the same as l/h thread on acetylene bottles. That said there is no info to confirm so it may well be one of those four candles posts

It’s a standard acetylene regulator I’ve got.

If I understand you correctly I can just change the whole connector on the regulator for a longer one. Where can I get that from?

They are called POL connectors for lpg

Make sure you use a suitable jointing method, don’t want a propane leak at bottle pressure

You have mentioned that you are using an acetylene regulator. You shouldn't use this for propane, the internal components are not compatible & could fail. Likewise you need to use a different hose for propane.

It would be better to buy a long stem propane reg as to buy an adapter.
