Ive all sorts stuck in me. I was sanding a door case, when splinter ran up my index finger all the way to my second knuckle. When I bent my finger the first joint didnt bend. The slither of wood was past the knuckle . Didnt hurt at all. That was until I had to pull it out. That hurt to say the least.
Problem wasn't all out, a few weeks later it (finger nail) exploded, while writing a large cheque .

I've currently got a bit of wood in my forearm that keeps flaring up, its been there for 10yrs. I think its Iroko. its not killed me yet.

I use masking tape for temp wound dressings...

Blue roll + insulating tape for the deeper ones.... mate at work was spinning a wheel to check for ovality, he forgot the brake caliper was there - I could only see the bone on two fingers so blue roll, insulating tape & crack on.

Always use two farmers crisp packets because they bio degrade. so are therefore much healthier.

That will teach you what guards are for, Aah well. As for what to put on it, my dad swore by Friars Balsam & always kept a bottle of it handy for cuts, it stings like fury so must do some good?

a near miss here the other day
I plugged in my rarely used palm router. Bloody thing was turned on luckily it did not bite me.
Stupid design by Bosch to have that type of switch on a hand held power tool. Just a little on/off switch

I've never made a point of unplugging my angle grinders when I change the discs, I'm not so dumb to pull the trigger while holding the wheel...

A few months back I was changing a 5" cut off disc, took a firm grip of the new disc to hand tighten it..... pressed the wheel lock button....

...or rather I pressed the ON button.....

And mercifully, it was one of the very few times I had actually unplugged it....

Years ago there was a demo firm on site and one of the lads' brother was off long term for that. He put the 9" grinder under his arm to change the disc, took firm hold of the disc and went to turn it but squeezed the trigger and cut a load of tendons in his hand.

If it looks like it needs stitches. Super glue. Sod waiting in A&E to get a couple of Steri strips. for them to fall off to moment you start work again.

By the time you get through our local A&E you'd either have bled to death, or the wound will have dried up and be scabbing over already.
