Thats Project Jetski, thought I would add a pic or two of the progress, some is just boring painting but I have got around to some interesting stuff too.
Have done a bit of blasting and painting on the exhaust

The starter motor had failed for the previous owner, he removed it and had it rebuilt but the casing was savaged in the removal BUTCHERS
This ties in with my question about alloy welding with a MIG. I welded the casing up with 4043 wire using my Snap on 2135 MIG

Next I needed to make the hole nice again, so had to make this super duper long extension arbour for a 30mm end mill. Not sure that HSS end mills should be soft enough to drill and tap strictly speaking but it was only a cheap ebay item (from the UK) still did the job on the aluminium anyway

I had planeed to make a front end support using the bearings but there wasn't space to do it easily. Took a test cut on some scrap and the wobble was minimal so just went right ahead with no additional support,

Now with the starter motor fitted and snug, I have been able to compression test it and determine if the top end is good (which it is) so its on with painting the engine next.
I have also removed and painted the entire jet assy, but its boxed up and I havn't got any pictures of it presently.
