another Christmas project is to reskin the workshop doors with a load of composite planks i picked up at auction for 99p. its nearly done, just need some angle iron to go round the edge. security and tidying up the edges.
yesterday they looked like this. notice the single plank the wrong colours as i ran out of green and the edges not lining up.
that was annoying me so i re did the rhs door and changed the bottom top and middle plank of the lhs door to match. now it looks deliberate.

It's too cold, wet & miserable here to contemplate a night out in a very bare panel van atm though lol.
There's also the small matter of needing to be around for Xmas day & the Fam.

Funnily enough I was looking at one of his videos very recently & have subscribed to his channel
I've got a pretty good idea how & with what materials I want to use for tasks (plus I have some materials accumulated plus some items from my old van to re-use too).
I do um & ah a bit, but right now it's a
- batten lattice on the floor with 25mm Celotex-type insulation, ply overlaid for a nice warm floor.
- modern aluminium faced insulation for walls & ceiling.
- timber fixed bed at rear with mtb garage & as much services (water tank, gas, mains Dis, mains hook-up/gen hook-up point) as possible under.
- hob, grill, sink, 3-way fridge galley kitchen on ns
- loo & seating on os (with dc split charger & dc dis under seating, poss leisure battery in there too).
- o/h cupboards & storage (also giving an easy route to run dv feed cabling from fr to rear for lighting, fridge etc.
Of course.... the doing ain't as easy as the thinking

Put the front and rear dash cam in the lad's little Honda today. All went in a treat tbh. Even running the cables wasn't too hard.
Showed him how to use an aircon bomb.
Jacking / wheel changing lesson next. Went out and bought a brand new steel wheel and tyre for it as that model appears to just come with a can of tyre foam even though there's space for a full size spare wheel.

Today i am off to been and queued to buy materials to build and enclosure around my new laser engraver/cutter.

I made a start on the diorama. I think 1:76 was just a scale too small for me!
The painting is really tough as I can barely see the things!!
Here are a few of the British troops with their base coat and first top coat.
The details will be a challenge but that is the reason for doing it in the first place!

We demand many updates.I don’t think I posted my last, still not finished work, so here you are. As usual, a wee bit doom and gloom, but it’s being so cheery that keeps me going.
I’ve got the resin water to add, a lot more painting to do, sort the lighting, and general finishing off.

Just normal rate, mileage earns a tidy profit though.Looks a good little earner there mate, Holiday rates and all that
I must get some sort of high pressure parts washer, cleaning the components took me 4 hours, cheap chinese grease goes like tar.
About two hours in actually stripping and replacing the bearings.
My port....lolThis looks Ok so I will make it my duty to find the bottom of the bottle for my crimble project

Picked up the correct brake pads for Amarok yesterday and got them fitted. Reckon I got my money's worth out of the factory pads which were down to a couple of mm after only 90,000 miles.
Unfortunately with the pickup blocking the workshop loading bay over Christmas, for some reason I thought Christmas day was a good time to start stripping the 1980's Anaglypta wallpaper from the hall, stairs and landing. Horrible stuff to get off. On day 3 now of the decorating project (I managed to escape to the workshop yesterday), and think this one will take me through to the end of next week.
Reckon I'll be under pressure to get painting asap, as the 1980's wallpaper has given to way to some 1970's puke-green walls. For the third house in a row, I've uncovered red ceilings when I started decorating - must have really been in fashion at some point.
Given it's Saturday tomorrow, I might get away with slinking off to the workshop for most of the day - still got to have a look at the oil pressure fault on the Renault Master, which I'll need to sort before I get back to real work in earnest week after next.
