Has anyone else spotted this YouTube channel, the guys puts together clever real-world low-cost tests to review all sorts of garage stuff from car oil to sand paper. His tests are full of surprises, eg Mirka sandpaper that everyone loves came out quite low, he found car oil after 12 months of low mileage low hours use is still very strong and all sorts of other stuff. Great channel for saving money and time.

I follow it just to watch something .
Spotting products I don't know.
But it's almost useless because most products are not sold in Europe

I’ve watched a few, the fake makita tools test and the strength of nails/screws were useful for me (i got a £19 makita lookalike impact gun and don’t need to use as many screws as I used to )

Yes. I love it. Love seeing tool comparisons etc. Nice to see them side by side and how they actually compare. In the real world everyone just says the more expensive is always the best and is loyal to their brand and its a shock when compared to something a quarter of its price just as good.

I think that you might have seen some of the earlier ones, some of the more recent ones have been really good especially saw blades (even if you cant get that blade over here!)

He is fantastic. Been watching foe years.
His voice is highly annoying and he has that Yank habit of reading out every bit of spec on the label but his tests are accurate and well thought out.
Some of them are very interesting - strength of screws v nails etc.

I thought his oil tests were pretty good? What parts of his oil tests are you referring to?
He has his own wear test rig which works very well.
He measures oils at different temperatures and tests viscosity. He also weighs the oils before and after heating.
OK not as good as a proper laboratory but his methods are sound.

i dont recall the exact details

something like an additive that you add 5-10% to engine oil and him testing it neat , then another where the additive needs running xx miles and he tests it straight out the bottle

not for me anyway
