My Niece has a 208 that was showing signs of a failing battery. Took it to a local battery specialist, he noticed the quick clamp on the battery terminal was loose so suggest that she try charging the battery for 24 hrs.
So Uncle Turbo gets the job of charging it. You can only see one end of the battery, the other end is under the bulkhead. But they have a remote earth terminal on the strut tower so I used that.
Battery charged up fine but it went flat overnight so she got the battery man to fit a new one @ £130!! (start/stop system fitted)
Next morning new battery was flat, I told them something was running down the battery advised them to see an auto electrician. I could have taken a look but it was too modern with too many electronics for my old brain.
Found a local guy who used to work at the Pug main dealers & he quickly diagnosed an electronic gizmo mounted in front of the battery. None to be found at any breakers so it was a new one from Peugeot @£300! Unfortunately it had to come from France, part is on back order so she has no idea when she'll get her car working again.
So after all that I can definitely say I'm with you - I prefer the old car!
