What would be a fair price to offer?
You see it all depends what use you have for it, it's always nice to own good heavy built machinery but sometimes it's not needed.
I used a basic £50 Clarke bench drill for many years and drilled up to 12mm through 10mm plate, it's accuracy was not perfect but was ok, certainly did everything I wanted for my hobby and occasional paying work.
As I said before, to me the price is too much, to some they will pay that because it's what they have always wanted and at times the heart rules the head.
Also remember the bottom half of a pillar drill is never used, a bench drill on a stand does the same job.
If you check pillar drills completed listings on ebay you will see good drills going for £100 or less.
