Are lorries not speed restricted then ?

They are but there is a difference in "limit", some are set at 50mph others 56mph and everything in-between. A lot of smaller operators get the limiter set on low profile tyres and then fit the proper ones back on the truck, you will see those trucks running at over 60mph.

Annoyed with someone or not but doing that is a recipe for disaster. You will only carry on if the lorry hits you. Not to mention if they don’t and they report you (because almost every lorry on UK roads will have forward facing camera) you’ll be in even bigger trouble with the police.

Extremely stupid thing to do.

I don't make a habit of this!
But if the knuckle dragger that's right up my **** for no reason doesn't take the hint of a couple of dabs on the brake lights and I'm stuck behind and next to other cars so I can't move anywhere, I'm then in a dangerous position I can't get out of. Last resort but it usually works and I always have the van in a "responsive gear" and dont let them get close.
Most are fine but some are retards.
I suppose if they had a dash cam showing what was going on it would also show how close they were to me too!

I've nothing again truck drivers at all! I know what they have to deal with in London with the suicidal cyclists and Uber drivers....
In fact just this afternoon a tipper moved over for me as I was pulling onto the M1 as the doughnut driving the car in front of me thought it was a good idea to slow down to join the motorway at 45mph
I let the truck past and moved to the middle lane and he moved back , I gave him a flash of the hazards as I passed and he flashed me back,

Driving in Canada was scary like that! I had to be doing 80mph or they were passing me and anything else near by

Coming off the ferry at St Malo, or Cherbourg, I've followed Irish full rigs, at full tilt, well up to 100 km/h.

Actually, I get more fed up with the elephant racing over (what seems like) 5 miles of two-lane dual carriageway.
That seems much more common.

I have the misfortune to need to use the A14 quite often and it seems more prevalent there than anywhere else I go.

Numerous times I've seen them three abreast on "Smart" sections !

Not 100km/h, 100mph. We wouldn't be hanging around and would get passed like we were standing still. They used to be rushing for the ferry to get to the UK or wherever.

Hols north Devon last week, behind a big tractor grossing a big trailer, decent A road, thought to overtake, looked at speedo tractor is doing nearly 50mph - no point, just cos its big don't mean its slow for the conditions

They should be to 56 BUT their speedo is more accurate so the cars will say 60ish & the lorry will still overtake.

Then you have all the ones that dont have them.

Locally we get a lot that are heading to the port that are running bent & keeping up with cars at 70.

How do they get away with it? Doesnt the tacho show it up if it gets checked?

This week I went through the purgatory of taking Mrs mm and our two grandchildren to legoland. (Less said the better about that place). It meant a long spin down the M4 from West Wales in the motorhome, two nights away in a very nice campsite north of Bracknel. On the way home, steady 60 mph, good weather traffic not huge, we come across numbers of lorries doing similar, no doubt on their limiters. Most were well behaved, giving room and time for their usual lane changing antics. Except a group of four we came across. They intimidated car drivers, us, and anyone else that got between them or alongside. One pulled his trailer out into the middle lane as I came past the end of it, if I had been looking in the mirror it would have hit us. Another indicated whilst we were allongside, and actually started to come across, even got over the line. There was a fiat 500 outside us, so I couldn't go anywhere.
After giving him the horn, and suitable hand gesture, he had the cheek to flash his lights for about half a mile at us.
Proffessionals? **Language** more like, not impressed.

Try being on a motorcycle when this sort of stunt happens.

I once got boxed in on all four sides, car passing slowly to my right, waggon in front, one behind, and one to the left... who suddenly indicated he was pulling out.... into me.... and immediately swung over into my lane, obviously I was in his blind spot.

Without even thinking I dropped down 2 gears and nailed it, 8000+ rpm and shot forward and out in front of the car passing me to the right.

Muscle memory, I guess, from 40+ years of riding,

The bike was a Bandit 1200.
