Problem with pedal

    The machine is a Kemppi MLS 2300 and this is what's happening;
    I am welding along and at the end when I take my foot off the pedal, the arc keeps 'running on' at low amps.
    The only way I can stop it is to stomp on and off the pedal a couple of times until it stops.
    Or of course, just pull the torch away but that is obviously not ideal.
    This is a bit intermittent and only seem to happen on AC and when I use the pedal.

    There are lots of welding geniuses here so I am hoping to enlist you all for some good advice.
    Please help....anyone....

    Moderators; if this should be in the Kemppi machine forum, can you please move it?

    It sounds like the microswitch in the pedal is sticking.

    ...or it's not switching, if it's not sticking you might solve it by loosening it and adjust position so it switches.

    Some have a small metal lever that you might bend a bit to get it to switch.

    They have a limited mechanical life so you might need to replace it if it doesn't contact when switched.

    That makes perfect sense. I will take a close look at the pedal.
    I feel a bit silly for not thinking about something like that.

    Thanks

    Thank you guys. It was a sticky switch, works perfectly now.
    So simple that I couldn't think about it, I thought it would be some kind of complex electronic problem.

    Now I just have to work on my technique......
