The ABS light on my daughter-in-laws Polo (2003 1.2 3-cylinder petrol) has come on.
After some research on the Internet, I've carried out some basic checks (fuse condition in battery cover, brake fluid level, electrical connections tightness) but no obvious problems. Although it drives & stops fine, there's something that obviously needs attending to asap.
Rather than letting the local VW stealership loose on it and resulting in a ££££ bill, I've looked at buying a diagnostic tool, such as:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/U281-VW-A...776457?hash=item4abb872649:g:En4AAOxyF0pTfST~
Has anyone used one of these or have any idea how effective they are? If I can at least get the fault code for an idea of what needs fixing, I can make an informed approach.
Or is it a total waste of money?
My son has a 2007 Seat Leon, so it might also come in use on that when required.
Thanks as always for feedback / advice.
