Hi
no probs your not teaching to suck eggs yes I've changed the liner for a steel liner does look a bit like a curtain wire plus the swan neck one as it had the plastic and the swan was in 2 bits ;0( I think it feeds ok the first prob I had was I couldn't get a good arc on low power that seems a lot better after cleaning up joints etc from the advise from members snooper said it sounded like a feed prob from the first video posted so said I'd pop another just incaseI know it's a bit basic, but if you have a wire feed problem, is the liner ok & running smoothly? I've just had a quick look back & can't see if you've checked or replaced it. If not, drop the wire feed roller off & give the wire a pull from the torch end. There should be very little resistance. The hobby welders were all supplied with a plastic "windscreen washer" tube & it can cause all sorts of problems. Several people on here have replaced them with curtain wire, though I've not tried it. The wire sticks to the inside of the plastic & runs erratically & partially jams as the liner wears.
Sorry if I'm teaching granny to suck eggs as they say, as you are probably aware of this, but just an idea. If it's still the plastic one, it's a good plan to change it anyway as it will feed much better.
