Printing multiple objects

I'd like to print some draw(e)r runners, 12 in total, and they are in two parts. I'll be printing them on a Bambu X1 in PLA. Is it better to print them singly or in multiples at a time? Time isn't a problem. Print reliability might be a thing but I've not had any problems with the machine so far.

I printed 3 x machine feet the other week and one went bad. In hindsight, it was a pain to watch it print a good layer, good layer, then a birdnest on each pass and I didn't cancel it as that would have been three ruined prints.

Because you might run out of filament before the job has finished

Fill up the bed. The system will auto arrange to make best path etc.

<PS> don't use the little grey area in the bottom left corner. That area is where the filament cutter activates. With the AMS installed, you can't use the entire print bed...

Multiple prints save you picking them off the bed each time and waiting for the printer to heat up.
When I've tried it it seems to take longer than printing them individually but you'd expect that with the travel time in-between each piece.
Probably quicker overall than removing a piece before printing the next.

Obviously adding multiples increases the print time and that's what puts me off, an error or a power cut at 95% and you've wasted a lot more print time/filament if you ruin 12 at once.

My printer can't resume after an error or a power cut or detect filament run out though so you might not have that issue
I keep meaning to get a ups for it then I'd probably have a bit more confidence in the longer prints...

The first 6, of 24, didn't quite finish, the top covering layer is missing but they work. The next 6 I printed in pairs.

I'll do the rest as 4s, enough for one drawer at a time.

Boring but true.

If I'm printing multiples, I print them in series. Yes you do need to space them carefully and sequence based on extruder clearance but it saves travel time and stringing.

That sounds like something I need to look for in settings.

Saving time is not an issue for the Carbon X1. That thing can accelerate faster than the eye can follow. It is insanely fast.

And yes, I just bought one...

It has issues of clearance with the bottom "deck" of the tool head festooned with sensors so I would be wary of "print one at a time" on the same bed. I know to my cost what happens if you lose clearance during a ridiculously fast travel move.

Tricky to use Cura with the Bambu Lab machine, especially with the AMS (multiple filament mechanism). Bambu Studio is another Prusa slicer clone which sort of keeps up with developments and is a pretty handy interface but you almost have to use it in the walled garden they have built . The machine is simply phenomenal but it has its drawbacks, one of the biggest being its reliance on cloud based features.
