i dont think you'll be able to do it,as a novice.
yeah checked all h&s on the 2k it will be a 2k base and clear (i think), got me air fed suit and ventilation on the way anyway!
looking at house of kolor paints on
http://www.jawel.co.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=25_36
it is so confusing! so far i think i need:
etch primer
high build white
shimrin kandy base
kandy top
then a clear with flakes
and a load of hardeners, catalysts and reducers to go with it!
(i basically want a very high gloss metallic finish with lots of depth and good color and flakes to add a slightly custom effect)
if anyone can make sense of how to use those paints i would be grateful
i did phone them and got a general idea but after reading through i'm lost again.
i know im making a good case for myself to stay clear of such expensive and dangerous/hard to use paints, but i'm very keen to learn as i will be spraying regularly in future.
I have done several jobs using cellulose paint yes, and a many using aerosol cans and fine grit paper! but i would consider myself a complete beginner really.
I think that may have been the wrong thing to say!! lol. (got to prove myself now!)
jokes aside, can anyone recommend a way of achieving a quality finish, with a good color, high gloss and slightly metallic?? without going as expensive and complicated as above.
it is to be applied to ally, steel and existing paint.
i have a nice big compressor, all the air and oil filtration in place, a kestrel A7006GSS gravity gun with a 1.6 nozzle, and a budget of about £150 for paint.
