Pressure washers ? which recomendations

My mates been through 5 Karchers since I bought a cheapish Makita, he’s now given up and doesn’t use one for past couple years.

This is why whilst it is expensive something quality like a Kranzle is the only way to go really.

Buy once cry once, then you have a good machine for life with full spares availability etc it if required.

I regret washing hundreds of pounds on cheaper units before buying my Kranzle

This is the sort of thing that makes absolutely no sense to me. Surely after the second or third you would stop? Even 5 cheap Karchers would have been enough money to buy something decent.

Agree, I thought it was madness but he accepted 2-3 years use. I’m not sure how well he stored them etc but nothing out of the ordinary I should imagine, certainly not abused.

I think the big issue with Karcher is their reputation is tarnished by the array of £50-100 units they sell.

If you spend the same money on a Karcher as you would on a Kranzle then you would also get a good machine.

There is no doubt if I was in the market for a quality cold water electric I would buy a Kranzle.

I run an old HDS601 Karcher, it was used when I bought it over 10 years a go. I think I paid about £500 for, in 10 years I've replaced the hose, the coil,motor capacitor and the piston seals(twice).

I bought a Clarke heavy duty one. Wasn't very good and then failed. They refunded me in full and gave me a good discount off a Nilfisk premium 180. Not cheap but it is seriously powerful. Probably the most you can get on a 13amp plug. Lead gets a bit toasty so wouldn't like to use it on an extension.
The more expensive Nilfisks are actually made in Britain.

To be fair £1200 is full RRP. For example here is a UK vendor in NI and the higher spec model is £880 odd inc vat. I got mine from Germany for just over £700. And there are also other equally capable smaller Kranzle models with reel for £600 or less new.

Karcher- £150 purchase price. May last 2 years so £75 per year cost.

Kranzle- £880 purchase price. Will last 20 years+. Call it 12 = £73 per year cost.

Like most things nowadays you pay for what you get. Rant over but just saying for me it makes sense anyway your opinion / expectations may vary and that's AOK too.

The pumps are of exceptional quality will last years and almost endlessly rebuild able.

On the car detailing forums the nilfisks usually came out better quality and lasted longer than the karcher.

The K1152 is listed as commercial use on the Kranzle website.

It's a while since I looked at them but there used to be a case study where they were being used by lobster fisherman to clean pots, they were pumping water directly from the sea with no issues as they are rated for salt water.

From a looks point of view the K7/K10 look like a half finished unit but they are commersially rated too.

I think commercially rated means 7-8 hours a day, again those numbers don't seem to be on the site now.

this is a Karcher, Bought into the repair café today. The husband had 'had a go' But got stuck and bought it into us. bottom left of the picture is the broken gear that caused the failure. We thought about 3d printing a replacement, but the client didn't want to do that.

I wasn't booked onto that one. I was busy sharpening garden shears!

I couldn't be happier with my blackline.

Landy has sat for about a year. Used the turbo nozzle on the chassis blasted it back to paint/bare metal the tub underside looked exceptional


Likely to become a dropside the repainted.

I bought a Bosch pressure washer with a decent metal pump, not expensive at £250.

Not had much luck with Karchers, even our all singing all dancing one at work is always breaking down..
