Yes. I've got an old VFR and an Aprilia Falco, both with Ohlins shocks and hydraulic preload adjusters and both have the reservoir/adjuster on the end of a hose.

He tried using a flap disk to gain clearance but broke through the part making it for for the bin.
I was thinking a Great Saturday night nitecap.

The inner (ex)threaded part now has worn through with the flap disk and leaks hydraulic fluid. Initial thread was what?
Shock body is M54 x 1.5 thread?
Can you take the adjuster to bits so the dims of the inner which needs to be made can be ascertained?

Yes, that's my next step, dismantle the unit and measure everything up to see if what I have in mind is actually viable. I'll also need to source a new internal seal. Initial thread on adjuster sleeve prior to machining was M53 x 1.0. Shock body is M54 x 1.5. And yes, the machined part has worn through after using a flap wheel on it, and leaks fluid.
