how would that work .when the points on a mageto open the spark jumps through the plug to earth . so if the ht lead was conected to the frame it would just short out as the engine is bolted to the frameThats nothing new !! British bikes upto the 50's had all black wiring !! Wasn't for security though, there was no security, fuel on, choke on, kick and go ! There were some interesting tips for bike security in the mags of the time though, like wiring the mag to the frame via a hidden switch so any would be thief would get a belt when kicking it over !
normaly the frogs eat the snailsI set up a quite complex system which involved auto gates and an I-R movement detection ring for a client, video stuff etc. Carefully noted all the wires with notes on masking tape. Came back a bit later to mod it. Bl++dy snails had got in and eaten all the labels. Not a good day...

Reading futher about this it would seem insurers could be planning to increase premiums for MOT exempt vehicles to as they are then regarded as higher risk. I suppose then if you get a MOT, even if exempt, the premium could then revert to a normal level ?

The test fee is actually £54.85 for a car.
(locally £50 is the going rate as there is not enough competition)
Places that charge less will prob be looking for work to make up the difference.
you'll never belive it..... i did exactly that today, bought a 53 ford f100, its not too rotten, and the guy is delivering for £50 so cheaper that a £60 and 3 points ticket, just need to think of what to do with it
