i had a snapon pozi screwdriver that was worn out .took it to a dealer and he said could only replace it if he bust the end off and duly did in other words if it was fairly worn out its not covered

I bought a set of Vessel JIS drivers years ago to use on Jap bikes, excellent tools.

Unless you're a biker, you'll never use them. I haven't touched mine since I sold my last Japanese bike.

I'm bikeless now, but sometimes use the JIS drivers on PZ's as they have grippier tips and less likely to cam out

Japanese cars use JIS screws too. MX5s are littered with them

I've got two sets of the Halfords ones.

(They had some 3 for 2 offer on and I figured you could never have enough screwdrivers...)

I've had them years. One started spinning in the handle and they replaced it without issue.

Others have been fine.

Wera have a lifetime warranty too. They replaced my broken philips driver FOC, you just have to post them the broken one back - with the way post prices are going, it might not be far off being cheaper to just buy a new one though.

You cannot beat PB Swiss.

Hoffmann group is the only sensible place to buy them

I was looking at them on pbswisstools.co.uk and thinking how incredibly good value they were until I realised the website is dead and the prices are 3 years out of date, might as well double the prices now.

That's correct. I assumed we'd covered that already with your Snap On man breaking the tip off for a warranty claim. Warranty is for manufacturing defects, not wear and tear.

Wera don't start at Snap On prices though and FWIW, Halfords won't (or shouldn't) replace worn screwdrivers either

just been looking at me phillips driver tip and its a bit worn still works not bad just use it for putting screws in but wouldnt want to be undoing something important with it so will get another. just looked it up and its managed over 4 years so hasnt done bad

Maybe in France. I have a pair of ,Facom torque wrenches, that could do with ratchet repair kits. Tried to get some, through our local dealer, Hayleys, bearing in mind we use them , a lot at work , they came back and said they couldn't supply any and to try Ebay. Don't have a Mac tools van , around here.

Tried getting in touch with Facom UK , too. Spoke to a lovely, helpful lady, she gave me email and number, for correct dept. to get in touch with. Tried both ways, never heard back from them!

Facom CS is crap imo, I tried to get a ratchet replaced but gave up as they were awkward and unresponsive, didn’t cost me anything so I gave up but put me off them ever since, shame as decent tools otherwise. Never used PB Swiss or Vessel customer service but both make nicer tools.
