i have 5kva gennie and in these times we might need lecy ...do i just plug gennie in to any socket ===any issues in any way from this ,, was also looking at running it on natural gas .,,,,if output volts is higher than grid would this mean current flowing back to grid .tia

Don't plug it into a socket 
You need to do it properly so get an electrician to help with how you isolate it from the grid.
Whilst relatively easy to run a gennie on LPG it's not so with natural gas. Again you will need help of a Gas Safe engineer. Personally I'd go for a diesel generator and run that on used veg oil

Location as in country
What you plan on running as this isnt a big generator 16A if my sums are correct based on 240v at 80%?
You also need some way of isolating it from the supply

realy u need a changeover switch on the mains tails from the meter to the db and a 30 amp plug wired in it so you can fit a trailing socket and lead from your genny to plug in to it .note the genny ouput lead has the socket on not the plug otherwise the pins on a plug would become live when its powered up
YOU WILL KILL SOMEONE.
It might be you if you start the genny first as the exposed pins will be live or it might be someone working on the power line.
You will also be trying to power the entire area up to the fault.
Plugging a genny into a live socket will make something go BANG!!! Plugging it into a dead socket (dead cause there's a mains outage in your area) will send mains volatage out, probably make something go BANG, and possibly kill a linesman!!! The premises needs to be properly isolated from the incoming supply before it's safe to use a genny, and then only after due consideration to keeping the load within limits.

Don't F about with a live 13A plug or plug it into a socket as you'll at best overload your generator or worst kill someone working on the supply side of the network.

I run my old Lister CS set backfeeding into my workshop I feed into a 16 amp socket. First rule of running Incoming supply OFF. Connect trailing lead with plug into the mounted 16 amp socket. Plug into genny control box another 16 amp socket. Start genny. I know should I not have power from a plug but I do follow the procedure 100% NO ONE TOUCHES IT BUT ME. Eventually I shall wire into a changeover and hardwire into the genny the correct way.

Reading what you said, you’ve not had a power outage, but you’ve got a generator in case you do?
In that case why not just run what’s needed off of an extension cable or 2 from the generator and have some candles in the cupboard for lighting.
That reminds me of the 70’s when sometimes the power would go out for days at a time, candles, a log fire and endless Monopoly!

I've recently installed a change over switch and input socket outside by the meter box, and today installed an earth spike for my generator with an easily removed cable connection. As my generator has no RCD and it's MCB isn't marked with a rating, and doesn't have Neutral bonded to Earth I have a box on order to put in the cable that will contain a 30 mA RCB and 32 amp MCB and my Neutral - Earth link. This way I don't invalidate the generators guarantee.

Such a lead is referred to as a 'suicide lead'. I've recently bought a smaller (2.8 kva) used genny off FB market place and it came with such a lethal lead, wrong colour (yellow = 110 v should be blue = 240v) - amazing what people do
Indeed ! Knowingly I do it through a 16 amp socket. BUT I AM METICULOUS INVOLVING THE CHANGEOVER PROCEDURE. Doing it with a 13 amp plug NO WAYSuch a lead is referred to as a 'suicide lead'. Had a week long power cut here some time ago. A neighbour plugged a petrol generator into his house wiring - all went well until the mains power came back on, the generator became an electric motor causing the engine to over-rev and destroy itself.
So through his main fuse box he would be powering all the local 240 volt house feeds.
in our case theoretically not only would we be doing that but also back feeding the local 11kv distribution lines as the transformer is on our land. That 6 kw generator that I pictured would probably choke and cough a bit doing that, but my 110 kw generator would have no problem killing some poor UK Power Networks worker potentially miles away.
