for the 16mm bar to the 40x10 4mm will work, though 3.2 will be better. Your going to be running a bit too hot with 4mm to get the rails onto the SHS posts though without a good amount of practice at the job I can see big holes and bad undercutting happening on the box.
There are ways but honestly just get a good box of 6013 3.2mm in keep them dry and use them up over time

I may tig the brackets for the rails onto the posts, theres only 14 posts, 4 brackets on each. I didn't get a chance to buy any rods today so I'll have to order some.

3.25 or 2.5 rods will get them bits 100-110 for the bigger and 80-90 on the smaller but sets do vary as do brands of rods

To make your life easier...either get some Fincord Ms or some ESAB 6013 OK 46.30 rods..

Is there a BOC alternative to this rod? Like maybe the 6013 premium rutile? Just cause i can get them on account fairly easily rather than trying to find a local esab supplier....

Just noticed this bit... the welding will be done on my own property, the fence itself will be living somewhere else... does that make a difference?
