Hi all
I'm about to do some bodywork on a mk1 Golf, and need a belt sander. I have a 3hp /50L compressor that is decent for smaller jobs, but I have not tried it with any grinding tools yet. My compressor apparently delivers 300 l/m which is about 10.6 cfm, so it should be enough for some of the belt sander out there.
Given that I'll be using this tool a bit, I'm wondering if I should buy a quality pneumatic belt sander, or an electric one instead? I see the pneumatic tools run at a much higher rpm than electical ones. Would this be much more preferable for grinding down welds etc, versus an electrical at lower rpms?
