Possible problems with newer type equipment

Ambersil do a con-formal coating that I have used and totally solved a leakage problem on a 'chuck clamping force meter' I was repairing. I'd noticed that the sensitive bridge circuit measuring it's strain gauge was changing as I breathed on it!

Thanks for all replies , the ideas with lights and Cupboards are great for instruments but what would be the best way for my newer Mig's , Digital Arc Welders etc , don't think disassembling them and covering Circuit Boards and so with Coatings is feasable, suppose that's our new disposable world for ya .

Shut the doors to the shop and invest in a good dehumidifier or multiple units if the shop is large. It will protect your investment in tools.

mates dad has a small 40w bulb in his mig welder with a empty coke can with the top cut out place upside down over it as a heater and im sure he said it has a humidity sensor connected.

You could of course insulate the shed and prevent the problems completely

Yep , thought about that a few years back , actually a new bigger Shed together with a Vehicle Hoist and a running Block and Tackle . Then I had my triple bypass and I slowed down a bit and gave away all the Engine Hoists/A frames etc . Looking at the affordability of all this stuff nowadays it would be a no Brainer to do all this ,start from scratch and insulate the Shed , but allas now approaching my mid Sixties just looking for the easiest options , cheers.

Thats ok if you have a pretty sealed up unit with heating and such. Many dont so they will be trying to dehumidify the planet

switch on side, 20w heater placed as low as I can fit it near the PCBs, wired through a 3 point plug, separate to the 3 phase feed in - partly because the input cable doesnt have a neutral, and partly because I get RCD protection on the single phase sockets in my workshop

Belling bed warmer, remember those anyone? All they had inside was a light bulb, it aired a bed, so it would work for tools, as others have said.
