I've had some arc time with the equivalent inverter mig. Minarcmig 200. If this helps I thought it was a brilliant little unit so I'm sure the tig will be too.

I also have the minarc mig 200 and think its a blinding little machine that was one of the reason i was looking at the kemppi tig

I bought the Jasic equivalent for around half that money, including vodka, tonic and a few beers when I got home.

Haven't used it so can't give any advice (I'm a noob) but I can't see why the Kemppi is soooo much dearer?

The Jasic comes with a 5 year warranty if you register it online too, Cheltenham Welding Supplies did it for me while I was wrestling my credit card out of my wallet. Give Graham a call.

Jasic machines with a five year warranty haven't been around for more than a couple of years and the name has been associated with bargain basement equipment for some time prior to that.

The finances look different when buying equipment for daily use and people are naturally inclined to be conservative and also to look to such factors as the quality of support.

Does the jassic offer a synergic line setting. Ie set one thing and the machine works out the rest.

Component quality and internal design will be the biggest reason for cost differences. The digital display alone on the kemmpi will probably be more costly than the complete jassic package.

I'd wager that the digital display is made in the Far East and isn't that costly at all.

Build quality in other areas is a justifiable excuse for high costs, but working in machinery sales for a long time I've seen some 'badge engineering' in my time. Just saying, like.

It doesn't matter where it's built. it's a fancy LCD large control panel screen, it's gonna be quite a pricy item. Even so it's a step up in my view and I'd pay the extra for the kemmpi having used one and been impressed with the performance.

It's like asking someone if they want to pay a lot for a lambo or a lot less for a Nissan 370Z..
Yeah they're both really nice cars and get you from a to b and look good doing it but I sure as hell want the lambo over the Nissan.

Jassic 5 yrs warranty requires you paying an authorised agent to sort it every 12mnths and will exclude torches etc.. They are the biggest Chinese manufacturer of welding plants and although I am not decrying them the residual values will reduce faster than Kemppi the dealer / repairer network is small and I doubt you will get parts so long after the 5 yrs runs out. That said they are a decent machine. It might be surprising to fing out who they make components or whole sets for but people wont be telling you stuff like that so easy

Most warranties are conditional of some kind of service schedule or annual check over, just as with a motor car.

This is not unreasonable as it safeguards against people kicking stuff around the workshop/building site for 4 1/2 years and then rocking up saying "it's broken" and demanding a new one.

I have no problem with visiting my dealer once a year for them to confirm that my welder looks identical to the day I purchased it, as all my stuff tends to.

Not a Jasic fanboy, just wondered what made the Kemppi worth double. It seems it's the LCD screen and far superior everything.

When my Jasic breaks I'll buy a Kemppi, simples.
