Hi everyone.
Today, using the lathe I thought came to my mind. It has a belt that connect the motor with the spindle and you can choose to positions A, less revs but higher torque and B, the opposite.
I have it always in A, because I don´t usually need more than 800 rpm. but I have realized that if I don´t need that torque (I work with soft materials), the motor is running at higher rpm that I don´t need.
So, what position is better if you aren´t parting and working with plastics, aluminum and brass? Or it is a silly question and it really doesn´t matter.
Thank you
Best regards
