Portapower

Hi guys has anyone purchased a 10 ton portapower from fleabay ? I am looking to get one for work and fleabay is usually my first port of call but if you have any input I would be interested to hear it

I am also looking at getting a 10 ton pull back ram and as above any input/info would be greatly appreciated

I have a old 10 T I was given and new 4 T I purchased, both have been so handy for bodywork and general bits.. I used to use my 4 T to push out shackle bushes on hgv's as it was small enough to get in without dropping the spring off..

The 10T now lives in a homemade press..

My 10 T is a sealey, the 4t a Mac tools one as it was on offer very cheap. But the tool guy was saying they are made by the same company anyhow..

Damn that's a good idea to use it in a press that will come in useful

I have 22ton Komatsu loading shovel to work on before it is off hired and getting a portapower is going to save a bit on new parts. The boss has asked me to replace whatever I can't fix but if I can straighten bits out it will be a big saving, put it this way the rear radiator grill is going to cost £1500 + vat and that's just the start



I wonder if I save him enough money, will he buy me another new toy

The Lorch 252 was a good result but who knows

I've had one of these Chinese 10 ton kits for a few years and it works well.


Used here as a hub puller for a Salisbury rear axle.


Picked this Epco unit up off Ebay.


Came with loads of attachments and several bags of what looked like scrap metal but turned out to be even more attachments than shown here.


Trolley is on castors.

You've even managed to find "2 Rocking Horse Poo's" in the form of "Hydraulic G Clamp Frames" , I've been looking for one for years for a sensible price.....you lucky git Wallace..

Those photos were from the Ebay advert and that was all I expected to collect but we were given rubble sacks to fill with a pile of oily scrap metal. Once home I spent an afternoon washing everything in the parts washer that had orange paint and I had another pile of accessories that had never been used. There is a multi leg hub puller in there (see poor quality photo) and quite a range of cylinders both push and pull, a wedge and even some not much bigger than the connector. Did you notice jaws of life spreader attachment? I was only looking for a press at the time.....

We've had sealey and draper ones at work, same thing, but with different coloured paint.

Gets used for a lot it shouldn't. The threads have all but gone on the outsides of the rams.
The wedges don't seem to last either, they generally aren't that strong. But easily replaced.....

I couldn't remember so I looked on PayPal history, bought October 2008 for £227. I was convinced that was too much at the time until I saw some of the extra parts in with the scrap.
