Portamig verdicts

Hi all you Portamig purchasers!,
I didnt think i would be able to afford a Portamig but ive now decided to save harder and do some extra jobs to get my grubby mitts on one,now that some of you have had yours a while,would you give me some verdicts /opinions and some piccies if you have any of your machines in action? Pretty please?

I've spent an extremely frustrating weekend trying to get me home 'wireless', with the PC & all the other bits & pieces of wonderful gadgets. Sick & tired of large store sales assistants telling me "this is the one you want", "Oh yes, this'll do the job"; only to get home, with more wires & find f*** all works"!
Portamig does exactly what it says on the tin is all's I will say!

Tell me about it!! , weldequip i know what you mean,i wandered into halfords the other day to waste time while the missus was in another clothes shop! and the spotty 17 year old baldrick was intent on selling me a Sip arc welder because i happened to glance in the direction of welding odds and sods! and he explained in great detail how he made his corsa a stainless exhaust using the very same model of arc welder and it sounded "well cool!" ,i was close to telling him to go forth and multiply but he spotted more teenage prey!

Jesus! i only came in for a wander!

Only good thing in Halfords are their pro spanner /socket sets .They are not very helpfull either. I asked them to sponsor me once with no result........You know the chavved up Corsas that sit outside it?.......I wanted to see how many of them I could jump over with a Steamroller...

Most of the photos on this site are Portamig welds. Went around replacing a lot of Clarke welds that weren't quite so neat. Thing is the Clarke needed constant fiddling to keep it tip top, and the Portamig doesn't (wire feed and all that).

Very forgiving welders too - a friend learned to weld using the turorials and the Portamig, and after a weekend his welds were very neat. Though I still need to replace the tip after he borrows the welder. I'd have another.

Are Portamig British

ARE Portamig British or are they made in CHINE or Italy
