Portamig Spot Weld Timer

Purchased a portamig about 4 years ago new, the 235 model with the spot weld timer. Gone to use this function for the first time, couldn't find anything about it in the manual. I've set the timer expecting the welder to cut out after x seconds (as per the spot welder timer setting) but it just continues welding. Am I using it wrong or is the spot timer function broken do you think?

Is there not a "spot", "stitch" , "normal" switch that you also have to select ?

Nope, the rotator switch has an "Off position", then numbers which I guess represent the number of seconds to weld for.

It does sound like it is broken.
It might be worth taking the cover off the machine and checking the add on has been pluged in !
Only reason I sudget this is that I recall someone else on the forum havin an issue with there Portamig (or may have been an Oxford) where the spot add on did not work (fairly new machine). They contacted Tecarc and they sent out a replacement spot pcb for the customer to fit (as the person was willing too do this, rarther than ship machine back for repair.
Don't these machines have quite a long warrenty ?
It might be worth contacting Tecarc and spelling out what you have said in your post number 1.

Yep good idea. Yes I have emailed them, obviously with holiday period it might take a bit of time for them to get back to me. Thought I'd just ask the stupid question first.

I've had the machine since 2015 but I think they have a 20 year warranty. Only use it for hobby stuff and its been shat in the shed for the last 4 years idle...
