Any idea how the jacklegs on a Portacabin work?
Is it just a screw and nut or something more involved.

thort they are like axle stands a sliding leg with holes at different heights and through pinsAny idea how the jacklegs on a Portacabin work?

That makes sense, thank you.Mine are two concentric heavy wall steel tubes, the outer (=upper) part has a heavy bracket welded on the side. The inner (=lower) has a broad foot welded on it's base. A pin goes through both tubes to stop them sliding, with holes drilled every 2 inches. By placing a jack between the foot and the bracket, and taking the strain you can remove the pin, jack up or lower, and select another hole for the pin.
That is so long as some plonker hasn't inserted the pin from the wrong side, so when the jack is in place you can't pull the pin out
(Ask me how I know)
