Pop rivet gun

My old rivet gun packed in last year, no shame nearly 40 years old. Got a set of Wurth Zebras, they are a pain. If I use rivets with a thick mandrel, the broken off mandrel gets stuck in the gun. It gets a bit tiresome stripping it down after every rivet. Everything inside the gun looks ok.

What make is anyone using?

Pull the handles apart and the next rivet should push the old mandrel out. What's happening with yours ?

Oil it.

PS15 and PS45 - also got a very old original POP TT

You won't go wrong with any of the good makes such as POP, Lobster, Gesipa, Marson

Does your set have an adjustment? Often you need to slacken this off to ensure they can eject properly - the next mandrel pushes out the previous one.

The old mandrel is getting stuck, can’t get another one in. It’s a strip down to get it out

Oil it.

It’s been stripped, cleaned and lightly oiled, not making any difference. Tried different males of rivets still the same

I’ve played around with the ‘screw’ on the top, doesn’t make a difference.

facom, had it 20 years, still good as gold, must have put in hundreds.... only maintenance I've done, is a quick clean up of the serrated jaws with a wire brish, and a light oil... never been an issue.

I've recently gone cordless electric for riveting. It's great, i actually look forward to a bit of riveting as it's so easy.

I did have some 6mm rivets to put in the other day and it wouldn't do those

I have Teng ....been happy with it when I've needed it but I don't really do a lot of rivets to be honest.

I've recently gone cordless electric for riveting. It's great, i actually look forward to a bit of riveting as it's so easy.

I did have some 6mm rivets to put in the other day and it wouldn't do those

I only i use rivets now and again, couldn’t justify an electric one
