Poor man's welding shield

I made this welding shield from an old wheelie bin lid. I will use it as a hand held shield as I don't do much welding. The plastic bends easily when heated up with a heat gun.

Plastic mixing bowl and a couple of rivets would sort that!

Drop the bin over your head, hole for the screen and two for your arms and you're good to go My old hand held screen handle broke off so it got a plate on the outside and a 22mm copper pipe handle made for it. Improvise and re-use, wheelie bin lids make good sledges as well.

How "poor" do you need to be not to be able to afford one of these.... Well done on a bit of up-cycling though, as I believe the trendy term is nowadays!
