Polishing with a DA sander? Possible?

This is one of those questions that I feel foolish asking, but evidently I'm not putting the right words into Google...

I have a mirka 650 150mm hook and loop air sander.

I feel that I should just be able to stick a polishing mop type thing on it, but I'm not clear.

I want it for polishing a floor, so fabric rather than foam pads (foam will get ripped up instantly)

Alternatively, is there some cheap from China air polisher that I can buy?

Sanding is merely preliminary polishing, so yes. Have a look at Farecla Velcro lambswool bonnets etc.

I have an air driven polishing mop Julian, its very greedy for air and gutless. The leccy one is much better.

Yep your better off with an electric polisher, fairly cheap and work well

I use my old Aldi electric DA sander with foam pads for bodywork polishing and can't think why it would not work exactly the same for woodwork or floor polishing.

It works but it's slow going with that type of sander, I've used my Ceros for polishing but it really does take forever and it's electric.

Pick up a Chinese DA polisher, basically a grinder with a DA head on.

I've got one of these and it's very good, nice a compact but wouldn't come under the cheap category at £89 but in car paint prep top end units are £300-400

Friend made a BMW rear spoiler in aluminum that he polished quickly with a pneumatic DA. Don't remember what grit or how many stages he used but all done in no time.

Before using the electric polisher I use 3000 and 6000 grit pads on the da. You could hand polish quite easily after the 6000 pad.

The da polishers are slow I like my rotary polisher, works much faster
