Is this for a semi commercial kitchen? I hope you are aware how hard s/s is to keep clean & shiny. My sister was a chef in a busy hotel & she would not have any s/s surfaces in a working kitchen, too hard to keep looking nice. A wipe with baby oil is the best way to protect it.
We built a few x-ray irradiation systems used in cancer research. A couple of the customers insisted on all the cabinets being stainless steel, but every time we went to service them we'd spend ages with isopropyl alcohol, foam cleaner etc. trying to get the handprints off.
Then one of the fabricators mentioned using baby oil: we started taking a bottle along and did our level best to get Uni-age research students to blush

I've since been told olive oil works as well - but it might be an expensive treat for your splashbacks.
