polishing cast alloy

the profiles this corner piece is meant for joining are just like most alu extrusions, angle/T section/flat bar etc...can take the scratches out/smarten them up with fine paper...

but this corner piece is rough...not sure if it's painted or what will happen if I try to use fine grit paper/wire wheel etc? I'd like to make it look more like the other alu extrusions...not a mirror finish just smooth..matte smooth, if that makes sense!




I only have the one just now...will
order more to play with but hoping someone here can offer some advice

take the flashings of with a finger belt sander or die grinder with carbide bit in . then beadblast

I've got a finger sander...no blaster tho.

there ok for small clean up jobs using fine abrasive for a matt uniform finish
