Polish argon from eBay...?

My supplier is a small two man company and told me that's most places in the UK won't refill a bottle that you don't have ownership paperwork for. The same supplier later told me they bought bottles in France and rent them to UK customers so they presumably can get them refilled as they bought the bottles with paperwork.

This has got me thinking of buying my own bottle. I might call up and find out what's needed to get a bottle refilled, but be worth owning own bottle with paperwork.

It's interesting that there are so many small businesses trying to compete with BOC . My concern is always about safety and suitability of the cylinders.
Filling a cylinder from an unknown source is a really dangerous process, that's why we only fill our own cylinders with proven history.
I believe cylinders used in France have different valves to the ones used in the UK, perhaps they have been changed .

They did say the valves had been changed. This supplier has been going for ten years so I guess they can compete with BOC. I did look at BOC and the prices didn't look good in comparison. Maybe better for high volumes.

Depends what you mean by 'compete with BOC' really.

Like, would BOC (or more specifically Linde) consider it to be any real competition if a random little operation manages to turn over 10 cylinders a month?

Perhaps I should have worded it as provide an alternative to BOC ( or more specifically Praxair as they have bought Linde Gases)

Not wishing to be pedantic but Praxair have not bought Linde, when the deal goes through (sometime late 2018/early 2019) it is going to be a merger

the second thing was the date of the bottle mine was 01/18 so i must think about test in 2028.
the last one is to call linde, gasin and airliquide to know if they would refill the empty bottles. the said no problem but i have the papperwork aka the invoice.
praxair was the only one that said no, the wanted to send my new bottle to spain to be retested and the warn me that ti could be lost in the process, of course the wanted to rent one if that was not possible they wanted to sell one of them one. what a entreprise.

I tried Linde when I first got here, as I own several bottles. Got a flat NO and had to rent one of theirs.

As i said i call them before i buy the bottles and they said if i got the paperwork and the hidraulic test up to date they will fill them. I haven´t empty the bottle yet but i expect that they honor there word.

NB: Paulo is in Portugal, does Argoco España work across the border?

PPS..About the valves, here they are a male outlet on the bottle, unlike the UK ones. My old Portuguese O2 one is female.

Do you send from spain to portugal? the valve over here for argon is 21,7 mm x 1/14″ right thread.

Argoco España is almost ready to start trading, just waiting for final documention from the authorities in Spain.
The Argon cylinders will have a male thread, about 4000 in production.
WE will be looking for distributors throughout Spain and Portugal.
PM me if you know of any companies that might be interested in becoming a distributor and I will pass it on to our guys in Spain.

Unfortunatley Aquitaine is a while off at the moment but we will get to you eventually KemppiFrog

Just completing the last Spanish documents with regard to necessary permissions then we will be open, I guess within the month.
