just heard this on the radio in a shop about the police in northants using a former drug dealers car that has been seized

Obviously the drug dealers in Bedford are doing better as they all roll around in much newer faster cars!

well its far better using them or even selling them rather than crushing which is pointless. if they scrapped them they would make thousands . a second hand running engine can fetch 900 quid a gearbox 200 drive shafts 40 a piece and that's without the rest and that's just on a combo van

and nicking gear out of the lost and found room or stolen and recovered . a copper near us stole a gas boiler and fitted it in his girlfriends house she worked for crown prosecution it don't get better than that

It doesn't surprise me that a Wellingborough drug dealer only had an Astra.

But to be serious if the criminal had this on a lease hire, would the courts be able to sieze it? If its leased then its owned by the leasing company. The lowlife may owe the leasing company for the car, but legally he is not the owner, the leasing company is.
