Point me towards building resources

A change in family circumstances means that I'm building a small maisonette on the mezzanine in my new workshop. What was to be office & storage will become accommodation. I'll have about 15m2 & no more than 2m height.

I like the idea of super efficient to heat but I'm aware that just making a well insulated box won't work as me, the kitchenette & shower will all produce moisture that needs to be outside rather than in.

I've been looking at various manufactures all of whom will solve my problems - the building not relationship - but since I don't have a proper understanding of the whole process I can't distinguish between fact & marketing puff.
Ditto YouTube, I don't know enough about the subject to filter for bull.

Don't think I'll be able to stretch to heat reclamation unless it's v cheap!

Looking for resources for timber framing specifically vapour barriers, building wrap, moisture barriers.
How to control moisture in small buildings.

Is there a nice basic step by step introduction to building practices?

An extractor fan in your shower/kitchen is the simple answer. There are a million shed build threads detailing how insulation and vapour barriers are used, but if you're building a place to live in you might find there are legal ramifications to what you can do.

Having a kitchen and shower facilities in a works environment is normal. It's when the bed is installed that eyebrows will be raised. Just tell them you're inspired by Elon Musk and have taken to working very long hours...

i would need more info if you intend to build anything on it

the size and length of the floor, your beam thickness, where your supports are and my advice is dont add anything to it as the floor is weight restricted so anything that your building or using has to mix with what your also fitting in there with weight as well

you your furniture and other things on top all are weight on a floor

Thanks for the replies, I'm sorry I've not been clear.
I've not got any problems with building the mezzanine - I've done 4 now & will use the specifications for the previous ones. In this case the span is shorter & load lighter - happy days!
The question is really for a resource, ideally a book but proper internet based resource would work too. I'm looking to understand the issue of moisture control in buildings & meld that with energy efficiency.
I'll use YouTube but only once I've enough of an understanding of the issues to be able to filter out the ill informed.
