Pneumatic angle grinders

Got one of the cheapy ones from Aldi the last time they were on; bit disappointing and lacking in grunt, may try using it with bigger hose diameter. The ones I've used at work onboard ship are invariably really grunty, but so old the maker's name is long gone. Any recommendations for a decent make? Ebay has Chicago Pneumatic which I have no knowledge of and Ingersoll Rand & Atlas Copco which I do and like a lot(although I don't like the price, at least not for hobby use).

cp and atlas are the buisness but expensive. u get what u pay for . they take a lot of cfm to run them electric ones are best . cheapos are a no goer desouter is good as well and ingersol rand

As BS says very air hungry. A mate gave me a 7" air grinder I hate it think what CFM it needs

Ive got a couple of 7" atlas copco ones, cost over £800 each. Turbine jobbies that run at 40cfm. Great things cont stop them when spinning better than 110v electric ones

I had a 4" cheapo one I bought from an auto jumble, that lasted me about 18months at work. It wasn't as powerful as a my electric one but it was a lot lighter and smaller so it was beter in tight spaces I really liked it. I agree with bright spark about cp, ingersol rand desoutter and atlas copco, kobe arent to bad as well

We use about 25 of the 4½" grinders at work, mainly fitted with flap wheels for linishing, I find them very easy to use one-handed.
